Youngblood Brow Artiste

June 2nd, 2009Eyes and LashesRemember Brooke Shield’s eyebrows in Blue Lagoon?
Well, mine are the opposite – blonde, thin and with a nice, natural shape. But that’s not to say they don’t need a little umph. A year ago my roommate asked if I wanted to join her while she had her brows waxed. I mean, I’d always managed to pluck a rascally one here and there and I thought that was enough.
Well, after talking to the aesthetician at the salon, I decided, I too would have my eyebrows waxed and professionally shaped. An instant convert to true eyebrow maintenance, I found I can train my brows and make them look cleaner, neater and more like a movie star’s.
Today, I use Youngblood Brow Artiste.
I perform my makeup application sitting cross-legged on my bed in front of my large window, balancing a mirror in one hand, a brush, wand, puff or bottle in the other hand, and always in a rush. But even on the days where I’ve hit snooze seven times, I always do my brows. And mascara. And blush. And lip balm. But most importantly, my brows.
Youngblood Brow Artiste in Blonde is so dependable. First, I use the brush to bring control to brows, getting them settled and into place. I wand on the darker shadow mineral powder making sure my eyebrows follow the classic shape guidelines, even if it means fudging a bit. I then use the lighter powder to highlight my brows, adding depth and definition. And finally, once I’m satisfied with my artistry, I use the wax just I would use hair spray, to keep every hair in its rightful place.
And since I use a brush, and not a pointed, sharp pencil, I don’t worry about poking my eye out, or my eyebrows coming out too dark or looking fake. To the naked eye, my brows look natural and effortless. Grooming eyebrows gives them shape and can make a face look cleaner and make eyes appear larger and more expressive.
